Drew Redden - AFSCME Council 57 Business Agent
Union Representative
(707) 443-7371

Drew has been involved with Local 1684 and Council 57 for over ten years in varying roles as an active steward, Executive Board member, and most recently as a Union Representative beginning January 2016. Originally from the St. Louis, Missouri, area, he came from a working class household where treating others with respect and dignity were highly valued. Drew graduated valedictorian from a St. Louis-area high school class of over 600, and then attended the University of Kansas and studied abroad at the University of Stirling, Scotland, as a National Merit Scholar where he graduated with Honors in Political Science and History, emphasizing in political theory and the empirical evidence of its impact.

Since that time, Drew has set out to be on the front lines of affecting positive change for his community—with a deep commitment to helping raise the voice of those who would otherwise have none. He has sought to employ his efforts across the spectrum in this endeavor: private sector case coordination for the mentally ill, public sector care for the most at-risk foster youth, and as a regional executive for a youth-focused non-profit. During his free time, Drew has maintained active membership and served on the Board of Directors for several local non-profits whose efforts run from political engagement to participation in lifelong healthy activities. He looks forward to continuing his own small contributions to achieve a thriving community.
