Ryan Shannon, a Union Representative at Council 57, brings decades of experience to the labor movement. With a background of 20+ years in public safety as a 911 Dispatcher at San Mateo County Public Safety Communications, Ryan has dedicated the majority of his professional career to union and public service.

During his time with San Mateo County, Ryan spent eighteen years as a Steward, four years as the Local Vice President, and over eight years as President. Known for his composed decision-making and deep respect for the members he serves, Ryan is committed to providing them with the necessary tools for success.

Beyond his professional life, Ryan is passionate about sports, enjoys family movie nights, art and film history, and music.
