We have an incredible opportunity to stand together, build worker power, and uplift our sisters and brothers in Humboldt County this May!  They are getting ready to prepare for their contract negotiations this year and will be launching their bargaining survey around the same time that we will be out there, talking to members and potential members. This presents a phenomenal opportunity to mobilize our staff and leadership to assist these folks with their contract fight. The board has already warned of an impending "fiscal cliff," and we need to make sure that our workers come first on management's priority list!  We especially need staff and strong leadership help with pairings for door knocking during the weekend - we'll be out knocking on doors and talking to potential members on Saturday and Sunday, and possibly in to Monday to catch remote workers at home. We have a lot of eager participants from 1684 willing to learn the ropes and get out there and talk to their colleagues, however, it ALWAYS helps to have an experienced and confident staff member along their side, willing to take the lead on starting the conversation, using VAN, and assisting with planning the day for themselves and their sides partner.
