CA Majority Rule Campaign Submits Revised Version of Initiative

Californians for Democracy halted the signature drive in progress and is withdrawing the first version of the California Democracy Act. The ballot initiative called for changing state law so that a simple majority of the legislators can pass a budget or raise revenues. Polling results demonstrated that the title and summary assigned to the measure by the Attorney General’s office caused a significant drop in voter support.
