Register to Vote—For Our Jobs, Our Families, Our Communities
AFSCME members—whether we work for a city, county, hospital, school or special district—need a seat at the table if we’re going to be able to put food on the table for our families.
Our seat at the table comes from making our voices heard on Election Day.
By registering to vote, we can ensure we have a seat at the table when important decisions are made about our jobs, families and communities.
Just ask AFSCME Local 101 member Dan Gibson, who has been registered to vote ever since he turned 18.
“A wise person once said to me, ‘If people don't vote, their voice will not be heard and that's their own fault,’” Gibson said. “I take that to heart and encourage everyone I know to register to vote and study the ballots carefully—particularly, who and what is endorsing candidates and measures.”
The last day to register to vote in California is: Oct. 24, 2016. Don’t know if you’re registered? Visit the California Secretary of State’s website. Already registered but need to find your polling place? Click here.
