Established in 1963 AFSCME District Council 57 is a progressive labor
organization dedicated to providing professional services, resources
and training to develop, empower, unify, guide and support the work
and responsibilities of our local unions. Through staffing and leadership
we assist in representation and bargaining that will help AFSCME members
improve their working conditions to benefit them, their families and
communities. Council 57 participates in political actions to accomplish
our objectives. We support and assist our local unions in meeting their
responsibilities to remain viable and financially solvent. As the liaison
to our International Union we provide a delegate assembly as a forum
for governance and unity.
